Reds Get Past Austin for 6-5 Win
Vincente Soto had a good game, but he could not keep the Austin BigStars from falling, 6-5, to the Shelbyville Reds at Pete Rose Field. The Austin first baseman was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Shelbyville reliever Robbie Manning picked up the win, upping his record to 3-8. Masaki Ogawa took the loss. Jorge Bruno, credited with the save, is now 1 for 5 in save opportunities.

Had Eloy Jimenez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Jimenez hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Reds.

"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Jimenez.

Shelbyville, with the win, climbs to 37-87.
