Arturo Fernández had a good game, but he could not keep the Shelbyville Reds from falling, 14-10, to the Austin BigStars at Pete Rose Field. The Shelbyville designated hitter was 4-5 with a home run and 3 doubles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 in the loss. The slumping Reds have dropped 11 in a row.

With the bases loaded and no one out in the top of the seventh inning, catcher Shusaku Takabayashi delivered big for the BigStars. Austin was trailing 9-5 when he belted a grand slam home run.
