Yánez Slugs Muckdogs to 5-2 Win
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Kittanning Union and Kiawah Island Muckdogs get after it.
With designated hitter Domingo Yánez leading the charge, the Kiawah Island Muckdogs defeated the Kittanning Union, 5-2, at The MuckPit. Yánez hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Ralph Schroeder earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. César Torres collected his 2nd save.
With Kiawah Island leading 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Yánez hit a knuckleball from Gerardo Ventura for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Muckdogs ahead, 5-1.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Yánez.
The loss drops the Union to 0-2.
