The Daniel Brand A's topped the Stratford Cosmos, 7-0, in Nied League action at VBL's Best Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Daniel pitcher and East Tawas, Michigan, native Kevin Smith. Jeff Neal earned his 1st save in 2 chances.

The Brand A's got an important contribution from designated hitter George Gamble, who in the bottom of the third punched a full count fastball into center for a run-scoring double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Brand A's ahead, 2-0.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Gamble told the Daniel Chronicle.
