With 6-4 Win, Martins Improve to 56-55
|
Jamy Gouloze had a 5-RBI game, during Saint Louis's 6-4 triumph over the Puerto Rico Tropics. Gouloze contributed 1 single and 1 home run to the cause. The winning pitcher was Jorge Enríquez. He's now 9-8. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits for the Martins. The win gives Saint Louis a season record of 56-55.
Gouloze had a timely hit for Saint Louis in the bottom of the sixth. With Puerto Rico trailing 4-2, he turned a 1-1 slider into a grand slam home run. It was his 18th home run of the season, making it 6-4, Saint Louis.
Postgame, Martins manager Jeff DaVanon complimented Gouloze. "No question about it. Snuffy was terrific."
