Cosmos Deal Camels 8-4 Defeat
|
Cosmos designated hitter Jaime Castillo put his stamp on his team's 8-4 win over the Cooperstown Camels. Castillo was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Stratford in the contest. Picking up the win was Amdre Nova. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. The left--hander struck out 4 and walked 3. The Cosmos, now 8-3, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Stratford relied on the hitting of Tony Torres to pick up the win. The shortstop ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cosmos on top, 5-2. For the game, Torres had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager George Brandt said.
