Nakazo Ozaki impressed in the 9-5 Austin win over Stratford. Ozaki, who is tied for 4th in the NL with a .548 slugging percentage, hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Rick Cederberg, the winner, improved to 9-6. He held the Cosmos to 1 run on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 1. The first-place BigStars have a one-game lead in their division.

With Austin leading 6-0 in the top of the fifth, Ozaki came up to bat against Stratford pitcher Bill Catron. Ozaki hit a curveball to right for a 3-run home run. His 16th home run of the season put the BigStars on top, 9-0.
