Brand A's Trip Teddys, 3-2, in Extra Innings
|
The Daniel Brand A's and D.C. Teddys played an exciting game.
The D.C. Teddys got a sterling performance from pitcher José Sánchez, but the Daniel Brand A's still prevailed, 3-2. Sánchez threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Daniel reliever Blair MacInroy got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Han-su Kim was tagged with the loss.
Daniel needed the clutch hitting of José Díaz to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Brand A's on top, 3-2. For the game, Díaz had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Díaz told the Daniel Citizen.
The win brings the Brand A's to 6-4, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
