Rodríguez Goes Deep Twice in 10-5 BigStars Win
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.

The Austin BigStars topped the Toronto Red Birds, 10-5, in Nied League action at LaBatt's Blue Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Austin first baseman Javier Rodríguez. Rick Snow, the winning pitcher, is now 11-1. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, while fanning 11 and walking 0. Bobby McBryde, credited with the save, is now 1 for 3 in save opportunities.

With Austin leading 6-4 in the top of the ninth, Rodríguez hit a fastball from James Barker for a grand slam home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the BigStars ahead, 10-4.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Rodríguez.

The triumph puts Austin at 55-31 for the season.
