Scouts Snag 7-4 Win
|
Getting offensive support from Edward Hinchy, the Kansas City Scouts topped the Saint Louis Martins, 7-4. Hinchy went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Scouts. Luis Aguilar earned his 15th save in 17 chances. The triumph puts Kansas City at 48-33 for the season.
Kansas City used the timely hitting of Manny García to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Scouts on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said García.
