The Echo Park Lakers did just enough to secure a victory over the Oklahoma City Cyclones, 4-3, at Staples Center. Nobody did more than pitcher Héctor Cruz. Daniel Sánchez earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-5. Echo Park occupies 6th place in the Anderson League Sabathia Division at 35-45.

Echo Park took a 4-3 lead on Joe Crum's 22nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Crum hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Oklahoma City pitcher Bob Frazier shaking his head.

After the game, Echo Park manager Jay Ashe applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
