The D.C. Teddys and Stratford Cosmos were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Good production from left fielder Bob Letson helped the Stratford Cosmos topple the D.C. Teddys, 8-6. Letson went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 for the Cosmos. Reliever Bill Catron picked up the win. His record improves to 4-1. Ronald Young took the loss. Earning his 18th save of the year was Chris Sharp.

Rusty Simmons, the 25-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Simmons contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Stratford up, 4-0.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager George Brandt.

Stratford, at 48-32, occupies third place in the Nied League Mendoza Division.
