The Death Valley Buzzards and Sausalito Meatballs obliged fans looking for a good time.

The Death Valley Buzzards did just enough to sneak past the Sausalito Meatballs, 5-4, at Hell's Gate. Death Valley pitcher Doyle Lee, in particular, had a standout performance. Lee, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. Josh Hader was credited with the save for Death Valley, his 4th of the season.

One of the clutch hits for Death Valley came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the seventh with two out, Manuel Pérez, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2026 draft, hit a run-scoring single to put the Buzzards up, 5-2. For the game, the designated hitter went 2 for 4 with a double.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Pérez told the Death Valley Bulletin.

The loss drops Sausalito to 3-5.
