Cyclones Take Down Lakers, 5-4
|
Alex Bregman made an impact in the 5-4 Oklahoma City win over Echo Park. Bregman, who finished 5th in the AL in runs with 114 in 2024, went 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. Ipe van Meggelen, 2-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Amedeo Scotti closed the door for Oklahoma City, picking up his 14th save of the year.
Oklahoma City used a timely hit from Druw Jones to get the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cyclones ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"It was a good effort all around," said Jones.
Oklahoma City is now 32-47, while Echo Park is 34-45.
