Cosmos Earn 9-5 Win Against Spiders
The performance of Bob Letson proved critical in helping Stratford beat Cleveland, 9-5. The Cosmos left fielder was 5-6 with a double, 4 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Simon Murchison, now 3-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. At 45-30, Stratford is in third place in the Nied League Mendoza Division.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Jaime Castillo came to bat in the top of the 14th. Facing Cleveland pitcher Lois le Guen, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Stratford on top, 6-5.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Castillo.
