Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Kansas City Scouts got the win.

Kansas City picked up a win at The Castle of Kansas City, toppling the Austin BigStars, 4-2. Pitcher Stan Combs was one of the reasons the Scouts triumphed. At 42-32, the Scouts claim second place in the Anderson League Sabathia Division.

The BigStars had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Scouts going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the three-time All-Star Edward Hinchy came to the plate. Hinchy hit a run-scoring double on a 0-1 curveball from Austin hurler Dusty Bowden. It was Hinchy's 18th double of the year.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Kansas City skipper Shane Andrews.
