The Death Valley Buzzards did just enough to secure a victory over the Toronto Red Birds, 4-3, at LaBatt's Blue Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Júlio Rentería. Josh Hader recorded the save for Death Valley, his 17th of the season. With the victory, the Buzzards upped their record to 44-28.

Arend Simons, the 20-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Simons contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Death Valley up, 4-3.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Toronto manager Jose R Herrera said following the tough loss.
