Kittanning catcher Adley Rutschman had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 5-4, to Bugaboo Creek at The Citizen. Rutschman was 4 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Bugaboo Creek pitcher Gareth Ahernfeld got the win. He's now 1-0. Jack Leiter was tagged with the loss. Earning his 2nd save for Bugaboo Creek was Bob Cray.
Bugaboo Creek used a timely hit from Manny Luna to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Caribou ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Luna told the Bugaboo Creek Times.
The Caribou, at 39-32, have now won 4 straight.
