A 3-RBI performance from Juan Vázquez, who finished 2nd in the AL in OPS with .996 in 2026, helped the Puerto Rico Tropics beat the Hartford Whalers, 9-3. The wins continue to add up for Puerto Rico, with the latest making it 8 in a row.

Puerto Rico right fielder Marcos Morales contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a cutter into right field for a 2-run single. It was his 52nd hit of the season and put the Tropics ahead, 6-3.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Morales.
